DU BLONDE UNVEILS SELF-DIRECTED VIDEO FOR ‘BLACK FLAG’

Here’s the video to accompany ‘Black Flag’, Du Blonde’s – the exciting new project from Beth Jeans Houghton – strong single lifted from her debut album ‘Welcome Back To Milk’, out May 18 on Mute and produced by Bad Seed / Grinderman member Jim Sclavunos….

On the the self edited and directed video (with help from her mother Christine Jeans), which was filmed out at Joshua Tree in the Mojave desert, Beth Jeans reveals: “We filmed the footage in 40 degree heat while we played Beyonce out of the car stereo. A lot of the record is written about situations and people in Los Angeles so it made sense to incorporate the scenery in which a lot of those stories played out.” du blonde3
Du Blonde adds: “I feel no need to ease people in. ‘Black Flag’ is a good representation of the direction of the album. There are a few quieter, thoughtful tracks but the general mood is one of finally cracking. The record is a powerful release for me. It’s the result of finally sitting down and taking a look at my life, what I was angry about, what I needed to change.”

Here’s another track from the album, this rather psychedelic ‘Mind Is On My Mind’ feat. Samuel T. Herring the singer of Future Islands…

‘Welcome Back To Milk’ will be available on vinyl, CD, download and cassette, alongside special pre-order packages HERE. On request Beth will even design a tattoo for you…
