If you know someone aged 7 to 17 years old who wants to tread the boards, take part in creating brand new plays and learn all about the world of theatre, then the Lyric Theatre Summer Programme is the place to be.

The Lyric Theatre is delighted to announce the return of its ever popular summer scheme for 2010. And for the first year ever, the programme includes a week for young people aged up to 17 years old.
Former summer programme participant Jordan, aged 12 commented: ‘I’d never acted before and didn’t think I could get up in front of people. But by the end of the week I couldn’t wait to get up and show everyone what we’d practised. It was great.’

The programme will again feature a variety of fun artistic activities such as drama, movement, props and scenery making and of course a performance on the final day for family and friends. As always it will be facilitated by the very best of Northern Ireland’s theatre and art professionals. It’s a fun, exciting, creative and a chance to meet new people and make some new friends!

The Lyric’s summer programmes last for either one or two weeks and we are running a variety of summer programmes for different ages. You can register for one week for 7 to 10 year olds and for one or two weeks for 11 to 13 year olds and 14 to 17 year olds.

The summer programme, which will be based at St Bartholomew’s Church Hall on the Stranmillis Road in Belfast, costs £99 per week. For further information about dates, times, age groups and to register, phone 028 9038 5674, email  [email protected] or go online www.lyrictheatre.co.uk/summerprogramme.
