Stephen Cheeks, aka Dewon, is a US-based artist, songwriter, and producer born and raised in the small town of Ettrick, Virginia. He recently shared his latest single Danger, a soulful and smoldering track that marks Dewon as an R&B artist to take notice of.

A multi-faceted musical talent, Dewon discovered his calling at an early age, playing the drums at the age of four and piano at the age of eight and exploring his instrumental and vocal abilities further in church. In 2014, he released his single ‘Love Hangover’ which gained support across Sirius XM Radio for months upon release in their top 20 charts as well as local stations in Virginia. His follow-up single Never Wanted was championed in the feature film No Manches Frida 2.

Sensitively rendered and incredibly smooth, Danger sees lively percussion combined with gently frothy synths and velvety layered vocals, and what sounds like strings at the outro section, further enhancing the cinematic atmosphere. The track boasts a timeless R&B sound and an alluringly cool and laid-back feel perfect for easy weekend listening.

Speaking on the narrative of the track Dewon shared: “Danger is about how difficult it is to let someone or something go, even when you know it’s not good for you.”
