Hailing from Sweden with Iranian roots, Delara skillfully maneuvers through the intricacies of her heritage, a theme vividly portrayed in her music. Despite her profound connection to Iran, she doesn’t shy away from critiquing its political regime, transforming this internal conflict into a driving force for her artistic expression. Delara’s activism, exemplified by her involvement in a protest affiliated with Amnesty International, serves as a powerful testament to her fervent commitment to addressing pressing social issues, enriching the layers of her musical persona.

Endorsed by Alicia Keys and having shared the stage with renowned artists like Dua Lipa, Khalid, and Kali Uchis, Delara is emerging as an unstoppable force, captivating a worldwide audience numbering in the millions. Now, she introduces her highly awaited debut album, Shahrazad, a testament to her narrative skill and fearless embrace of life.

Inspired by the iconic character Shahrazad from One Thousand and One Nights, Delara explains that the title is a representation of her own narrative strength and fearless outlook on life. In her words, “That’s precisely what I’ve done with this album, uncompromisingly and freely expressing what feels right for me, without worrying about making myself understood and more palatable to the majority.”

The common thread weaving through Shahrazad is Delara’s human experience, narrated through each track that she describes as a piece of her heart and soul. The album invites listeners on a deeply personal and emotional journey, a theme she beautifully encapsulates with, “As a traveler in the City of God, I seek freedom in the treasures of dreams and stories.”

The album features fan favorites like Unbound, which earned a spot on Norway’s largest national station NRK P3, Didn’t You Know, a contemplation on our solitary entry and exit from this world, and the recently released Kalash featuring Beam, known for collaborations with Justin Bieber and Beyoncé.

Alongside these hits, Shahrazad boasts six new offerings, including the spirited Free my people free their love, the intense City of God, and the poignant closing track Cheshme man.

Beyond being a musical project, Shahrazad stands as a statement of self-confidence and the pursuit of love despite sacrifices. Delara’s music encourages authenticity and resilience, urging listeners to stand up for what they love even in the face of adversity. The album mirrors the artist’s journey and commitment to storytelling as a powerful vehicle for self-expression.

As Delara’s music resonates across the airwaves and web, she doesn’t merely represent an artist with a distinctive sound; she stands as a potent voice with a message that commands attention.
