Damn Drew is a dynamic artist who grew up in London and draws inspiration from hip-hop, punk & pop. The self-described Eastender creates very meaningful lyrics that are infused with emotion, he pours his heartbreak into the raw guitar-driven instrumentation and infectious beats on his latest release, ‘Never Sober’.

The music video for ‘Never Sober’ was made in collaboration with Caroline Hajny (Little Mix) and the single comes off the heels of his previous track ‘Rage’, which garnered over 70k streams on Spotify.

Recently, we had the chance to speak to Drew about the release of his latest pop-punk gem.

Can you elaborate on the meaning behind your new song ‘Never Sober’?

At the time I was going through a bad toxic relationship and was medicating myself to try and function. When I stopped then I realised I needed to escape.

Where do you think your music fits in today’s world?

I think it fits in the alternative scene which it’s probably based on my guitar-heavy sound.

What do you hope your fans take away from your music?

I hope they will be inspired or reassured that they are not alone.

Do you put a lot of pressure on yourself?

Without a doubt, if I’m in writing sessions or working on my projects I’m never content.

Which artists are you listening to right now?

I’m listening to my usuals which are Radiohead, Nirvana and some Fontaines D.C.

How would you describe your personal style?

Exactly that personal. I write about my experiences usually and that I find gives me more
the emotion which translates

What are your plans for the rest of this year?

Currently building my state-of-the-art studio in East London which is taking up all of my time for a further 6 weeks then I’m about to embark on a new journey with a new band that I’ve been blessed to be a part of it and can’t wait to announce more very soon on my socials
