New York City’s Crystal Stilts share their new video, directed by Daniel Fetherston, for ‘Star Crawl’, which shows the earthy feel of the band’s forthcoming album, ‘Nature Noir’, out Sept 16 through Sacred Bones Records.
The band explain: “We took off one morning to go capture random sweeping scenes. Rivers and valleys, trees and ponds… in a word, nature. I guess the album has that feel as opposed to the earliest Crystal Stilts material, which could refer to the cities, the subways, thoughts and frustrations that are kept inside oneself.
This song is perhaps about doing grandiose things, but knowing its not in you. The long sweeping shots of the Hudson Valley, and elsewhere at least somewhat resemble the scale of those claims.”
Check out the excellent ‘Future Folklore’, the first gem off their impressive new album ‘Nature Noir’.
Crystal Stilts third LP is simulcast from different pools of the past, bridging and expanding their intensive tastes in Soul, Folk, Psych, Country, Proto-punk, sounding refreshingly bold and deep rooted within the modern musical climate.
Crystal Stilts are: Brad Hargett (vocals) and JB Townsend (guitar) and are currently joined by Andy Adler (bass), Keegan Cooke (drums), Kyle Forester (keys)
