Hailing from Exeter, singer-songwriter Chris Ostler, has been rocking stages all over the country. His new single, Funk In The Trunk, is an absolute powerhouse of energy. With its unique mix of Pop/Rock with a touch of country and funk vibes. This is a catchy tune that’s packed with emotion and substance.

Ostler is proudly neurodivergent and wants to make a positive impact on others through music. Surprisingly, his autism is actually instrumental in improving his writing and playing skills.

Funk In The Trunk is everything about embracing your oneness and letting your creativity shine. It’s a song that inspires you to give up society’s expectations and create your own unique journey, while having fun at the same time.

Ostler is truly passionate about this subject – Funk In The Trunk was in fact inspired by his own personal experiences. To be realistic, integrating into a social group can be challenging. Dealing with their rules, expectations, and all the unspoken sub-cultures can feel like a whole challenge on its own.

Chris goes on to explain more about it: “More often than not, I’d feel awkward. I decided to create my own culture, one where it doesn’t matter who you are, what you wear or even how you dance. It’s all about the music, relaxing, having fun, and enjoying yourself with others.”

With punchy electric guitar riffs, catchy basslines, and upbeat drum rhythms that perfectly complement Chris Ostler’s lively vocals, Funk In The Trunk is full of fun and good vibes!.

In the music video for the track, he takes it to another level by wearing a DIY robot suit that’s like a cool mix of ‘Saturday Night Fever‘ and ‘Iron Man’. In Ostler’s own words: “The suit was made with boxes, glue, and tape, demonstrating that you can put anything together, look and feel great, and still have a good time! All we want is to celebrate and enjoy our uniqueness together. This party is wherever you make it, with an open invitation to anyone wanting to come on in…”

His captivating charm and energetic performances never fail to attract a huge crowd. That’s why he had an amazing opportunity to open for great artists like Joan Armatrading, Chris Barron (Spin Doctors), and Martin Barre (Jethro Tull).

Prepare for a full 2023 from Chris Ostler. He is got not one, but two more singles dropping, and even an EP in the works.
