Following a number of high-profile remixes in 2018, as well as a massively successful release of their last album Perfect Things, L.A duo Peppermint Heaven, have just released some of their finest work to date, Sunshine Days. It’s an imaginative take on 80’s synth pop, disco and funk – However, their creative vision reaches far across the Atlantic and the L.A duo have brought in some of the UK’s most exciting new producers on remix duties.
The latest being RAM Records signee Chords – Originally trained as a classical pianist It’s perhaps surprising then, that he transitioned from orchestral scores, to crafting some of the most potent drum and bass of his time. Inspired by an older sibling to get into music, he soon found himself signed to legendary imprint RAM Records, where he went on to feature across BBC Radio 1 and 1Xtra. A landmark moment came when supported on legendary BBC Series The Essential Mix. One of several intercontinental collaborations between Chords and Peppermint Heaven, Real Religion is given the Chords treatment in a unique take on the original. Built on broken beats and ethereal guitar licks, it’s a hazy production that brings a new quality to the Peppermint Heaven sound.
