Cheryl Cole looks set to win a $1m deal to advertise Pepsi if she secures a spot on the American version of The X Factor.The soft drink giant is said to be keen to shoot a multi-million pound advertising campaign featuring the Geordie, which would see her face splashed across billboards right across the States and help her quest to become a household name across the pond.

The contract would be an extension of Pepsi’s existing promotional deal with The X Factor, which Simon Cowell secured last year, said to be worth $60m.

But an insider said the Promise This hitmaker isn’t getting her hopes up just yet: “Cheryl would love to do it but she knows it could easily be someone else on that poster.”

The US X Factor launches in September. Until then, Chezza is keeping busy with other projects and is said to be planning a duet with fellow BRIT Awards nominee Ellie Goulding.
“I’m really proud to be in the same category as Cheryl Cole for British Female as she’s a babe… Cheryl and I are still hoping to work together but we haven’t had time yet,” the Starry Eyed singer explained.
