Chicago Illinois-born and bred R&B artist Cedrina lists Chaka Khan, Tamia, and Toni Braxton as her major influences. Not only is she a singer and songwriter but an actress too. Despite her music coming from RnB and Soul sounds, she has taken inspiration from pop culture.

Her new song called Favorite, is a smooth, sensual, and soulful RnB number that has a soft vibe to it. It’s really easy to listen to and sounds classy.

The track originates from an instrumental produced by Loudestro that Cedamina found on Instagram back in March. Cedrina explains: ‘My writing process is sometimes a reflection on my own experiences.’ On ‘Favorite’ she drew lyrical inspiration from her dating life – embarking on a new relationship and poised with the question, “is this love or infatuation?,” – and transcribed her thoughts and emotions in this song: “I ultimately wanted to create an R&B song that promotes love. It’s fairly easy to get caught in a toxic culture so I was intentional with my word play.’“

Deep bass and rich melodies create a calming atmosphere while Mariama Tatum‘s saxophone soothes the ear. The listener is completely captivated by this experience and is lost in their own racing thoughts.

Cedrina states that she ‘recreates herself musically and lyrically,’ as she enjoys playing with her live band and collaborative peers.
