Introducing London band Love Malsion
“Living in London is intense, and I guess you could call some of our music intense so that matches up”
“Living in London is intense, and I guess you could call some of our music intense so that matches up”
“I missed the silly drama and getting too drunk and stupid dancing in a club with a sticky floor. I even missed the hangovers. I wrote the song about mourning the loss of that carefree life, knowing that I’d never get it back.”
“The inner child needs a lot of love and warmth. Otherwise life is agonizing, no matter how many achievements and symbols you collect.”
“Being forced to stop and look at where things are going and realizing that you need to take ‘take your foot off the gas’ to enjoy life and not just always be looking for what’s next.”
“Feeling lost is a common theme; it is okay to feel like that; there is nothing wrong with it. When I say it out loud, it makes me feel better. I would want people to take this away.”
“It’s 9 o’clock, you’ve lost your friends, and your phone is dead. The mirror is telling you lies, and your adolescence is beginning to show.”
C&C take inspiration from many different artists, one of them being Peaches. She has always held a special place in my heart.
“I would say my music is a mix of Indie-rock, with some folky and jazzy elements thrown in. I like to push myself and try new things!”
“By showing that we’re just regular people with more to offer than just our Asian backgrounds, I think that actually gives more representation.”
“The simple chorus is basically my own origin story, but the verse is about having the right to choose your own choices, pretty fundamental stuff: euthanasia, abortion and Ireland’s Repeal the 8th movement, healthcare etc.”
“Our new single Soldiner stands out from previous releases and marks the beginning of a new era, a musical production resolutely turned towards deep house which is more on electronic elements”
“I listen to a lot of music all day. Weirdly, I could be walking down the street, making a cup of tea or washing the dishes (I know, not very rock n’ roll!) and a melody will pop into my head.”
“Big chorus’. Big synths. Modern techniques in processing using some known and ear-candy gear.”
“I’m massively influenced by songwriters who are incredible storytellers – Scott Hutchinson, William McCarthy & Craig Finn and so on”
The composition reflects this state of mind; sometimes on the verge of collapse, returning with intention and hope, shuffling drums, hazy vocals, distorted guitars, and lyrics like a mantra for release.
“Our affinity for Burial’s sound design & emotionally-charged sampling, especially on his earlier records, deeply impacts the way we approach creating a “world of sound to explore” within each of our tracks.”
“It was the end of our relationship and everything was super messy and falling apart so it’s about the reality of that situation.”
“I created this song based on the fear of losing someone I love.”
“Thom York’s solo records have been a constant source of inspiration. The beats and synth colors in particular always catch our ears.”
“It’s an upbeat record about being honest with oneself while discovering the feelings for what is either a seasonal fling or something very real.”
“There’s self-deprecation in the verses, but acceptance in the chorus. It gives me the same knot in my stomach every time I listen to it, so I know it’s real”
“There’s just a flow and easiness that Del Water Gap has with words that hits me right at the core, every time.”
“I was never enough for someone who claimed that I was her one and only. She often wanted to be alone, but when I was gone, it was not good either. Some days I was too feminine, other days just too masculine.”
“Nothing deals with feeling numb and emotionless. Dealing with a lack of impulses by searching for a kick or a rush”
“There’s a strong contingent of metalheads in the band, and no one has brought the rap and metal worlds together better than RATM.”
Their planting trees scheme while touring to help offset their carbon footprint, Milky Change has found itself teaming up with organizations such as Music Declares Emergency and Action For Conversation.
“Julia Michaels is the ultimate songwriter in my opinion. Her lyrics are so clever and her phrasing is wonderful. Also, this music video is just fab.”
“I feel like if Weeknd jumped into an afrobeat world that would be it.”
“It’s always the same – alienation. It may be from the society, from the ones you love, from a context or even from your self certain days.”
