Burial

The true master of creative emotional, evocative electronic soundscapes. Our affinity for Burial’s sound design & emotionally-charged sampling, especially on his earlier records, deeply impacts the way we approach creating a “world of sound to explore” within each of our tracks.

Atreyu

We both shared a deep love of heavier forms of music through our teenage years, and Atreyu is the band that really kicked off our love of all things Metal. The stark contrast of the pounding instrumentals and screamed vocals against Brandon’s angelic sung vocals still inspire us to this day: in our music, we’re constantly urging the listener to explore the intersection of drum-heavy techno grooves and the melancholic, melodic synth waves throughout.

Clams Casino

We started our exploration of music production in the world of cloud rap and wavey beats, and Clams does this sound better than anybody out. The simplicity of Clams’ arrangements contrasted against his brilliantly-designed, dreamy soundscapes always inspire us to ensure that each of our tracks is underpinned by an unmistakable groove which you can’t help but move your body to.

Curren$y

Our days as kids were soundtracked by LA Hip-Hop Station, Power 106, and we spent endless hours recording radio mixtapes to cassette on our parents’ old stereo system. The voices of 50 Cent, Nelly, Snoop, and Dre were a constant within our house growing up, but it wasn’t until later on in life that we found a hip-hop sound that truly resonated. We found that in Curren$y’s lazy-yet-immaculate stoner rap flow over top-tier production that bridges the worlds of cloud rap & soul. Spitta’s unique rhythms and pristine ear for beats inspires us to this day.

Black Coffee

Black Coffee was the electronic Artist that changed our lives in our 20s and set us on the path to exploring the realms of House and Techno. Through Black Coffee’s performances at Output in New York, Sound in LA, and Coachella, we experienced the immense power that a proper deep and spiritual house set can bring. And we aim to emulate this vibe-creation and deeply moving approach in each of our DJ sets and productions.
