It’s big news for anyone that grew up dancing in the mirror to “Oops…I Did it Again.”

Britney Spears, the girl that simultaneously rejuvenated the second season of “The X Factor” and emptied FOX’s pockets, will likely perform during a live episode of the singing competition show.

Hollyscoop spoke with the pop icon’s co-judge Simon Cowell during the network’s press call on Tuesday, where we questioned him about the possibility of a Britney performance actually happening.

“I’m going to push as much as possible for her to do something on the finale,” says Simon, adding, “I think she’ll probably do it.”

This is major news for the songstress whose live television performances have been scarce ever since her colossally critiqued “Gimme More” appearance at the 2007 MTV VMAs.

But, according to Simon, it isn’t just a potential performance that fans should be getting excited about–Britney’s team is apparently going to be one of the hardest to beat…and that’s coming from Simon!

“Britney’s team,” Cowell says, telling the press that her group of young bloods is the team he’s most afraid of.

“I think everybody in a way wanted that category because we have two or three kids in the category who are super, super talented this year.”
