Emerging talents of the UK blues scene, Brave Rival, unleash their second single, Fairytale, from their highly anticipated sophomore album, Fight or Flight, set to drop on August 16th. Accompanied by a captivating lyric video, Fairytale aims to solidify Brave Rival’s burgeoning reputation in the rock and blues world.

Fronted by the dynamic duo of vocalists Chloe Josephine and Lindsey Bonnick, Brave Rival stands out with their unique sound and powerful stage presence. The band’s lineup is rounded out by the instrumental prowess of Donna Peters on drums, percussion, and acoustic guitar, Ed ‘the Shred’ Clarke on guitars, and Billy ‘Danger’ Dedman on bass guitar.

Vocalist Lindsey Bonnick explains: “Fairytale is a song filled with darkness but at the end of the tunnel there’s light.” Chloe Josephine adds, “It’s dark and heavy and poetically connects with the fairytale feeling of the mental health world. It’s relatable but it also rocks.” Guitarist Ed Clarke shares, “Fairytale started with a riff of mine, and Lindsey added the slow opening intro, with the chorus growing from there.”

The band’s previous single, Five Years On, won Classic Rock’s Track of The Week and was praised as a “hooky, toe-tapping ode to overcoming the odds.” It was also named Rush On Rock’s Red Hot Track of the Week. Building on this success, Fairytale is set to further Brave Rival’s ascent to rock stardom.

Following their exciting stint touring with British rock legends FM on their 40th anniversary tour, Brave Rival is gearing up for an extensive tour throughout 2024. This year promises to be a landmark for the band with the release of Fight or Flight, an album that elevates their signature sound.

Brave Rival created their second album, Fight or Flight. Crowdfunded by their loyal fans via Kickstarter, the band hit their target in under 48 hours.

“To me, there’s a different energy,” reveals Lindsey. “Lyrically, just about every song can be viewed in different ways. There’s a strong thread around mental health, whether we were writing about things we’d gone through ourselves or experiences picked up from meeting people on the road.”

With influences from Heart, Zeppelin, and Fleetwood Mac, Brave Rival is a band to watch in the rock scene.
