As had been predicted over the weekend, Bon Jovi will headline the event, which takes place on Saturday June 15. Tickets go on sale November 8, priced at €79.50. Support acts are yet to be confirmed.
Event organiser Lord Mountcharles has reportedly had the New Jersey rockers on his wishlist since the 1980s, however it is only now that the venue and the bands schedules have allowed a deal to be brokered.
In highlights from the event Lord Mountcharles stated how ‘Bon Jovi was an honorary Irishman and had many Irish connections’.
The rocker also (naturally) praised the Irish people and said how he and the band were really looking forward to the gig next June. ‘Set lists go out the window, I will play til I fall down’ he said.
Jon presented Mountcharles with a guitar and the pair even went to the pub after the press call.
The news will please rock fans in Ireland who were wondering if the band would include the emerald isle in their 2013 world tour schedule.
