Blankiflúr is a new innovative project in the Icelandic music scene. It’s the result of a lush collaboration between eclectic artists/producers Inga Birna Friðjónsdóttir and Jerald Copp.

With their music, you’ll walk through an often-disguised, but always an effective examination of their creative sound “safe space”. A way to find ways to truly explore the unknown. By listening to their creative intuitions and exploring these unfamiliar places, the duo manages to bring back sounds & textures that are filled with charm and emotions.

Blankiflúr just released Modular Heart and it’s drenched with an intricate blend of synth tones, mesh vocals layers, and exuberant cinematic frameworks.

The soundscape of this electropop anthem is simultaneously awe-inspiring and soothing. It creates an immersive atmosphere with a certain “space” feeling to it, while still managing to keep a sense of exclusivity throughout.

Modular Heart is all about discovering your multidimensionality and after all, focuses on the life-affirming reality that love is a deeply complex matter.

Jerald (Stefán Örn Gunnlaugsson) and Inga wrote Modular Heart’s lyrics and made the music together. Stefán played all the instruments, did arrangements, and recorded all vocals.

Stefán mixed the song. Friðfinnur Oculus was in charge of mastering. The splendid artwork (above) is by Stefán as well.
