South East London art-rock outfit Black Bordello extend the narrative of Daddy with an ambitious new video centred on the band’s theatrical visual language.
Conceptualised and produced by Sienna Bordello, with Stuart Graham as Director of Photography and editor, the video mirrors the track’s emotional intensity while foregrounding the band’s performance.

Written by Bordello and recorded at KONK Studios, Daddy features the core lineup of Sienna Bordello (vocals), Daniel Gowers (drums), Melody Hoyi Wayfare (keys), Jerome Alexandre (guitar) and Henry Thompson (bass). The track was engineered and mixed by Balazs Altsach and mastered by Felix Davis.
The song blends post-punk, art-pop and progressive rock textures, positioning the release as an early preview of the band’s forthcoming third studio album Midheaven Tempest. Speaking about the track, Bordello explains:
Daddy is the most emotionally honest and difficult song I’ve ever written. It follows the processing of my father’s tragic death through theatre and surrealism. It is a ballad about my relationship to my own father, and how his absence has re-sculpted my identity. I was also thinking about the broader aspect of ‘The Father’ religiously and societally when I wrote the song.

Upcoming live dates:

30th April – Golden Lion, Todmorden
16th May – Alt Escape @ Dalton’s, Brighton
