Rising singer-songwriter Beth McCarthy has unveiled her new single If You Loved Me Right, providing a dazzling alt-pop belter. Her dreamy vocals lend themselves to infectious melodies as she delivers introspective lyrics which explore the painful confliction of gaslighting. The track is an explosive jam, with powerful drums and soaring synths adding to the heart-wrenching tale that this single tells.
London-based Beth McCarthy has reached over 10 million views on TikTok, with her previous single She Gets The Flowers accumulating one million streams in its first month. Clearly on an upward trajectory, Beth’s newest single proves that this is a talent who truly deserves to make it to the top.
Beth says of her new release: “I wrote ‘If You Loved Me Right’ about being with someone who makes you feel crazy for being insecure or not trusting them when it’s their actions and behavior that made you that way in the first place ie: a gaslight anthem. I came out of a relationship with someone who would call me names such as ‘psycho’ and ‘totally mental’ in arguments and I remember thinking ‘okay, that’s all well and good but if you actually loved me right and didn’t do all of these things to upset me, maybe I wouldn’t be crazy’ – and the song was born! I want this song to be a way for anyone who’s ever been in this situation to take back the power and realise that they were not the problem.”
