Ten years after All My Demons Greeting Me As A Friend, AURORA is reopening the album’s original creative files through The Moth Tapes, a collection of demos, alternate versions and previously unreleased recordings arriving on September 25th.
The project includes the previously unheard title track, alongside early versions of songs including Runaway and Running With The Wolves. It will be released digitally, on CD and as a moth-inspired 12” vinyl edition.

Built from recordings made during the original album era, The Moth Tapes offers a closer look at AURORA’s early writing and production process before those ideas became part of a catalogue now spanning more than 10 billion streams across her song credits.
Long-term collaborators Magnus Skylstad and Odd Martin appear across the project, alongside Michelle Leonard and Sacha Skarbek.
AURORA explains:
It’s been over ten years since I wrote these songs, many stories have been long lost and now some of them will find their way into your hearts. It feels vulnerable to release something unrefined, but I know sometimes that is what people need the most. I hope these songs create and bring back some good memories for you all.
The timing also lands during another resurgence for Runaway. The track recently recorded its biggest streaming day since its 2021 viral breakthrough and has now passed three billion combined streams, while charting on Shazam across markets including Nigeria, Vietnam, the Philippines, Norway, Indonesia and Thailand.
Since the debut’s release in 2016, AURORA has expanded that early art-pop world across four studio albums, large-scale international touring and work spanning music, film and environmental advocacy. Her most recent global tour sold more than 300,000 tickets, while she received a Contemporary Music Award at the 2025 O2 Silver Clef Awards.
Rather than treating the anniversary as a straight reissue, The Moth Tapes exposes some of the unfinished architecture behind AURORA’s debut era — vocal files, demos and alternate takes that show how songs developed before the final versions locked into place.
That makes the archive more interesting than a conventional anniversary package. The finished catalogue already shows where AURORA went; these recordings reveal more of the process that got her there.
