ARTIST OF THE WEEK: FLOWER FELLOW

Flower Fellow is a young lady full of power and wisdom way beyond her years. Her latest single ‘Madman’ reflects just this; blooming with wistful vocals, melodies and an extremely enchanting folk-tinged charm.

Flower Fellow aka Colette Olive is only seventeen yet she manages to create a sound which is effortlessly ethereal and captivating. Olive is heavily influenced by all things seventies including the likes of Stevie Nicks and Janis Joplin.

However, Olive’s beautiful voice is clearly influenced by more modern day artists as well such as Florence Welch and Laura Marling. Olive manages to combine the two contrasting styles to create something both powerful and delicately emotive.FlowerFellow1Since moving to London to begin Art College, Olive says she feels like she has finally found somewhere she feels she truly belongs and we’re bloody delighted for her.

If this is the sort of music she can produce at the tender age of seventeen, then who knows where she’ll be in ten years time? So watch this space – Flower Fellow is definitely one to watch.

‘Madman’ is out on September 4th via Circus City Records.
