The UK Songwriter has been working between her home studio in Sussex and her studio in Brighton, where she co-produces with Tim Larcombe (Lana Del Rey/ Halsey). Amy is returning from a year of no releases, where she has honed her creative process to share some of the most exciting new electronica we’ve heard.
First stepping up to the piano at a young age, Amy was soon composing for her school plays at just 10 years old. Growing up, her inspiration came from her parents spinning The Pretenders, Debbie Harry, Elton John and Dire Sraits. Fast forward a few years and after a string of releases on South London label Aesop, Amy’s releases went on to receive support on the airwaves from BBC Introducing, Zane Lowe, Elton John and BBC 6Music.
Perfect for fans of James Blake and Bon Iver – The new single Shine Off makes incredible use of Amy’s songwriting ability and Tim’s incredible production technique
“A problem shared is a problem halved. Shine Off is an ode to companionship, to the people who care about each other enough that they won’t run a mile for knowing each others worries and weaknesses. As much as we might try to stay strong when we are suffering, to hold everyone else up when we are feeling down, we must realise that our loved ones wish for our happiness as much as we do theirs, and that actually we can’t be our best selves when we’re in pain; we can’t help others as much as we’d like to when we are in need of help ourselves.”
