Peacefield is like a vintage toy robot. Fun and whimsical. Virtually unbreakable. A little rust on some of the edges, but that just adds character.
Comes complete, with all the bells and whistles, but never goes out of style. And when it makes music, its eyes light up.
This Texas-based band began in suburban Pittsburgh, with Jeff and Don Glatz, singer/songwriter brothers and pals, raised in a big family full of cops, comic books, the love of music (lots of music) and classic TV.

R Bruce Phillips – Keys & Piano
WHAT KIND OF MUSIC DO YOU MAKE / PLAY ?
American Alternative Rock
WHERE ARE YOU FROM ?
The band is originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Now we’re based out of San Antonio, Texas.
HOW DID YOU GUYS GET TOGETHER AND WHEN?
Don had been a singer songwriter since college and I loved music and writing so we both came together after both returning to Pittsburgh. Don was living in Rhode Island and I was in New York. Don taught me some guitar chords and we started playing together.
I think we went by “The Grasshoppers” for our first official show, which is hilarious!
WHO ARE YOUR INFLUENCES IN THE MUSIC INDUSTRY ?
Oh boy. There are so many. We each have our own. As far as myself, I listened to everything from The Waterboys to Wilco. I grew up on U2, Aztec Camera, REM. Just so many. Don – Neil Young, REM, James Taylor, Pink Floyd.
WHAT HAS BEEN THE HARDEST PART OF BEING IN THE BAND FOR YOU ?
Time to do everything, to keep connected with our family and friends. It’s important.
TELL US A BIT ABOUT YOUR EARLY DAYS AND HOW THEY DIFFER FROM NOW ?
I truly believe we’re better musicians and writers. I’m not afraid to sing now. I’m more confident in what I do and what the band can do. This makes it easier on stage and in the studio. It shows in our performances.
WHAT WAS THE LAST GIG YOU PLAYED, WHAT DID YOU THINK OF IT ?
We played at Augie’s Barbed Wire Smokehouse in San Antonio Texas. It was great. We’re starting to see new faces at the shows and it’s a lot of fun.
HAVE YOU ANY FORTHCOMING GIGS IN IRELAND OR NORTHERN IRELAND ? IF SO ARE YOU LOOKING FORWARD TO THEM AND WHY ?
No plans at this time but I love Ireland. The whole feel gives me a warm feeling. The people seem so interesting.
WHAT’S THE MOST SUCCESSFUL THING YOU GUYS HAVE DONE TO DATE ?
Depends on what success is I guess. Money? Having our single “Warmer Side of the Street” in the movie “Kingpin” with Woody Harrelson and Bill Murray. We still receive royalties for it. Benefits we’ve played in the past have been successful. For Homeless, Animal Cruelty, Battered Women’s Shelters.
WHO HAS HELPED YOU THE MOST GET TO WHERE YOU ARE TODAY ?
Our families and friends. The support is unbelievable.
WHAT’S COMING NEXT FOR THE BAND ?
Start recording the next CD and playing shows in new cities.
IS IT HARD BEING A NEW BAND IN TODAY’S INDUSTRY ?
Well it’s hard as far as getting the right bunch of people together to commit but with all the internet advantages today, it’s easier getting the music and the band’s name out.
HOW IMPORTANT IS THE INTERNET AND SOCIAL NETWORK SITES TO THE SUCCESS OF YOUR BAND ?
It’s huge for us. We’ve never had this kind of fan base before. With our new website www.peacefieldtx.com, Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, our music can be heard anywhere in the world.
– WHO’S THE MESSIEST IN THE BAND? Don without a doubt
– WHO IS HARDEST TO LIVE WITH ON TOUR? Don or (Myself) Jeff
– WHO IS THE JOKER AND WHY ? Myself (Jeff) because I get easily bored.
– WHO MOANS THE MOST ? Paul, Cory, Brent & Don
– WHO IS THE MOST ROCK ‘N’ ROLL & WHY ? Brent, he looks Rock ‘N Roll
– WHO IS THE LOUDEST ? Brent’s drums
– WHO IS THE MOST ANNOYING ? We each take a turn
– WHAT’S THE MOST EMBARRASSING THING SOMEONE IN THE BAND HAS DONE ?
Oh boy, so many choices. Something as simple as playing a whole song in the wrong key from the rest of the band to one of our former drummers throwing up in his drum bag. Announcing other bands by the wrong name on stage is a goodie.

Tom Waits. He’s a musical genius.
WHO WOULD YOU MOST LIKE TO COLLABORATE WITH IN IRELAND OR NORTHERN IRELAND AND WHY ?
