Allday unveils ‘The Necklace’: New album, single ‘Miss You Still’, and tour!

Australian artist Allday is preparing to release his fifth studio album, The Necklace, on August 2nd via Dew Process. Alongside the album announcement comes news of his National Album Tour. Additionally, he’s dropped a new single, Miss You Still, featuring Tim Nelson from Cub Sport, offering a nostalgic twist on Ben Lee’s classic, Cigarettes Will Kill You.

Accompanying the single is a lush video aptly directed by ARIA Award-Winning director Kyle Caulfield. The video’s concept immerses viewers in a “never-ending waiting room,” weaving together surreal visuals that mirror the emotional essence of the track.

Miss You Still is a collaborative effort that underscores the evolution of both Allday and Cub Sport as artists. It seamlessly blends Nelson’s award-winning pop vocals with Allday’s signature bars, all set against the backdrop of the familiar piano chords from Ben Lee’s classic hit. Allday reflects on the collaboration, expressing his admiration for the original song and the friendship shared with Cub Sport since their early days in the industry.

 “I’d always loved that song [‘Cigarettes…’]; I’ve always loved the piano. I think people will just like the piano, even if they haven’t heard the original song. [Ben Lee] was cool with it. I’ve known everyone from Cub Sport since 2012 or 2013, so that is a cool friendship.” 

Ben Lee, the original artist of Cigarettes Will Kill You, shared his enthusiasm for the collaboration, stating, “I’ve always been inspired by artists who sit in their own space, carving out their own territory, beyond competition because they are playing their own game. Allday is that type of artist, and I’m honored he sampled Ciggys and made it his own.”

The Necklace album, a collaboration between Allday and longtime producer Simon Lam, underscores his decade-long career. With 300 million global streams and three Top 10 ARIA charting albums, Allday’s authentic narratives and infectious charm continue to captivate listeners worldwide.
