Dreamy and enchanting singer-songwriter Alfreda continues to captivate audiences with her unique blend of chic-pop and avant-garde artistry. Following her visually striking and tongue-in-cheek single Nude, and the synth-pop allure of Lipstick, Alfreda now presents Guest Room, a track that beautifully encapsulates the complexities of love, rejection, and self-discovery.

Set against a backdrop of lush piano keys and seductive vocals, Guest Room transports listeners into Alfreda’s rose-tinted narrative of young love that quickly darkens with the realization of being relegated to the guest room—a symbolic gesture that triggers a cascade of emotional turmoil. Cutting-edge production meets bluesy roots in this gripping anthem, Alfreda’s candid emotional frailty laid bare in a refrain that tugs hard.

The inspiration behind Guest Room stems from a personal anecdote of Alfreda’s own experiences with her first boyfriend’s family, where what she anticipated as a romantic milestone turned into a moment of profound emotional rejection.

Alfreda reveals: “I remembered the time I was spending the weekend with my first boyfriend’s family. It would be the first time I’d spent a night with him, so I was expecting to be sharing a bed and using the time to get closer. But upon arrival, I was put in a separate room, and I took great offence. The rejection I felt was certainly disproportionate for the situation, but it taps into a deep place of neglect and a feeling of abandonment. I had a lot of emotions and wasn’t sure how to control them”

This emotion triggers something primal, a raw sense of being forgotten that she struggled to shake off. As Alfreda peels back the layers, her true artistic character is revealed – a stunning fusion of emotional depth and stylistic breadth that marks her as a standout talent. Imagine twisted metal circuses, disco balls reflecting flashing lights, and artists challenging what’s thought possible – that’s Alfreda’s concert experience.

Guest Room has not only benefited from this kaleidoscope of creativity but emerged as an early fan darling. At the center of Dangerous Kitchen’s sweaty, bass-thumping club nights, she shone brightest, bursting with a hybrid energy that blended infectious beats with a pinch of drama, leaving the crowd clutching for air. With every strum of her guitar, Alfreda opens the door to a realm of unbridled self-expression – her provocative, dance-infused shows beckon the audience to step into a realm of unrestrained exploration, where taboos are broken and freedom reigns supreme. With a cabaret-inspired residency titled Bedroom Tales at the revamped London music hub House of KOKO, Alfreda continues to push boundaries and redefine performance art.

Cementing her reputation as a powerhouse performer, her inclusion at Glastonbury Festival – courtesy of Evelyn Carnate’s personal invitation – is the latest feather in her cap, showcasing her reign supreme in both music and art. With Guest Room, Nude, and Lipstick serving as harbingers of her upcoming Mothers Makeup EP, anticipation is building for what promises to be a groundbreaking debut. Imagine Alfreda serenading you in your own living room – that’s exactly what’s happening on her Bedroom Tour, where she’s making the rounds in England, serving up intimate performances in cozy settings.

With each melodic stroke, Alfreda dissects the complex narrative of human feelings, charting a course through the fault lines of our collective story, where past, present, and everything in between converge.
