Bristol alt-indie four-piece Adult Leisure return with View From Our Window, a darker new single tracing how childhood fear mutates into adult isolation.

Recorded with longtime producer Ollie Searle and mastered by John Webber, the track tightens the band’s widescreen indie sound into something tense, urgent, and emotionally exposed.

Songwriter and lyricist David Woolford explains:

‘View From Our Window‘ is us trying to reflect on moments that left us vulnerable and scared. The verses describe a bogeyman-type figure who lives in a place that echoes our childhood nightmares. As you get older, the monsters you were once so scared of change, but really, it’s your fears that change.

That idea drives the single: fear changes shape rather than fades. “Great big rooms but little beds” nails the imbalance — a huge world, a small self, and no easy fix.

Woolford adds:

‘View From Our Window‘ is the perception that we need to stay alone and not allow anyone in, as they may hurt us, but at the same time, being scared of our own company.

The release follows Adult Leisure’s debut album The Things You Don’t Know Yet, which has passed one million streams, plus recent official showcases at New Colossus Festival in New York and SXSW in Austin. The band have also signed a worldwide bookings deal with WME, adding serious live momentum to their 2026 run.

With October shows ahead, View From Our Window marks a darker, tighter chapter: private fear pushed into bigger rooms.
