Bromley 17-year-old Abi Hudson, talks about her charmingly confident pop song ‘Fragile Around You’, co written with Terry Ronald and Steve Anderson. Abi’s debut tracks is a convincing display of her song-writing flair, sustained by her powerful, mature and sophisticated delivering…
Hello Abi, how are you? What’s on your mind right now?
I’m good thank you. I’ve got my exams at college (BIMM) coming up so that is definitely taking up a lot brain space right now! Got a couple of new tracks taking shape as well so am working on that.
What inspired you to write ‘Fragile Around You’?
‘Fragile Around You’ is based on personal experiences, it’s inspired by relationships and the baggage that can come with them.
How do find working with Terry Ronald and Steve Anderson?
So amazing! They’re both so talented and helped me bring elements to my music that I never would have thought of.
Could you briefly describe the music-making process with them?
It was a bit weird at first, going in and having to tell two almost complete strangers about all your thoughts and feelings. But I’m so pleased with the end result and I had a great time. What kind of music are you listening these days?
Everything from Zara Larsson to Queens of the Stone Age.
What was the first album you purchased?
Probably something by Michael Jackson…I love MJ!
How would you describe your style?
I would describe my style as contemporary pop with a throwback vibe.
Tell us about your next show and why we should be there…
My next show is on the 18th January at the The Old Queen’s Head. I’m so excited for it the venue is so beautiful. I’m performing along side Freddie Lord and Ben Noke, which are such amazing artists. I love performing live.
