Northern Ireland’s live music industry look set to attend Fast Forwards’ first ever Live Music Summit on Tuesday 15th February in Belfast.
The event will feature a 360 degrees examination of the live music sector and will also include keynotes, presentations and panels from a range of music industry professionals.
The keynote delivered by Northern Ireland born London promoter / agent Paul Charles of the Asgard Agency, whose highly successful career spans over 4 decades and who represents artists including Tom Waits, Jackson Browne, Ray Davies, Ry Cooder and Steve Earle. Paul is also a highly successful novelist and author.
Other panelists include a wide range of influential concert promoters and festival bookers including Stephen Curran (Oxygen), Cillian Stewart (Castlepalooza), Paddy Glasgow (Glasgowbury) and Joe Dougan (Belsonic).
Further presentations will be made by Michael Roe (independent Irish record label Richter Collective & band Adebisi Shank) – on the live venue as a marketplace for physical record sales – “venues are the new record shopsâ€.
There will also be an AV presentation from one of Northern Ireland’s hardest-working and most exciting live bands – Lafaro (by tour manager and drummer Alan Lynn) – on the bands most important 10 concerts of 2010.
The event will take place on Tuesday 15th February from 2pm until 5pm at the Blackbox arts venues located at 18-22 Hill Street in Belfast.
