Wild Culture Talk Us Through ‘Together Alone’

With their stunning new single out for release, we thought it was right that we caught up with the very talented Wild Culture. They talk us through ‘Together Alone’, what makes them work as a duo and what else they have in store.

When did you first starting writing music?

We started to produce music 7 years ago.

What inspired your artist name?

We get different inspiration when we travel trough Europe to write new music. Each city has its own flair and vibe.We love to go into the mountains and enjoy the silence of mother nature.

Where did you both grow up? What music were you into from a young age?

We both come from Austria, Felix is from Vorarlberg and Flo from Tyrol. In our younger age we listened to Green Day, Rage Against The Machine and the good old classic hits from Qveen, Janis Joplin till Prince.

Who inspires you at the moment?

We really love the productions of Diplo – who always surprises with his new projects and collabs. Its really inspiring for us, especially the mix between different genres with electronic music.

Can you tell us a little bit about the making of “Together Alone?” Where did the original inspiration come from?

During a songwriting session in Berlin we sat together with all the musicians for a couple of drinks. One was approached and found out that a beloved person was lost. We had deep talks that night about break ups and memories of people we had to let go in our lives. As we all were really down after that, there was no other solution to process our feelings than working on a track. “Together Alone” was the outcome and we hope it helps many people out there to handle their feelings.

What do you each bring to the table, production-wise?

We normally start our writing sessions with a few piano chord progressions. Than we let the “vibe” in the room work and build with the songwriter/topliner a new track. Felix is the master of mixing/mastering, Flo looks for the right arrangement and the right voices. Generally we do the whole writing of it until the final master on our own.

How would you describe your musical style?

Our music style focus electronic pop with organic sounds and feed recordings. We try to mix different genres within our electronic style.

Have you had the chance to travel much over this year?

We have travelled the last few months from LA to Japan and Germany. It was funny to write in different countries new music and get the experience of the crowd on our shows.

What have been your 2018 highlights?

On stage, one of our highlights was to play of the Donauinselfest 2018 in Vienna in front of 15.000 people. But the biggest highlight was to release our single “Together Alone,” because it has a very personal meaning to us.

What is next for you as we head into a new year?

2019 will start with a new single in February 2019 coming on Sony Music DE/RCA and much more music in the coming months. Several festival shows are planned in Germany, Austria and internationally.
