THE PHANTOMS’ ‘SHADOWS’ | AN ABUNDANCE OF ATTITUDE

One of Scotland’s most exciting new prospects, indie quartet The Phantoms – Colin Simpson (vocals/guitar), Euan Crowe (lead guitar), Blair Cullen (drums) and Zach Tarimo Goodhur (bass) – are back with their latest spine-tingling single ‘Shadows’, out on 21st April.

The track builds with guitar-filled modulation, before a drumbeat full of swagger kicks in, leaving you nodding and tapping away at very first listen. With a rich melody and a structure indie-pop lovers would sink their teeth into, both the chorus and the lead guitar melody offer catchy hooks that leave you wanting more.

Along with Colin Simpson’s expressive vocal style – incorporating dark undertones with the use of the lyrics “Here I come, Here I come… You better run, You better run”, the energy-filled chorus brings power and substance to the track, as well as presenting an abundance of attitude.

It’s exciting to hear guitar music that is evolving, full of character and accompanied with a plethora of hooks. Only time will tell, but I think we’ll be hearing a lot more from The Phantoms in 2017.

‘Shadows’, the forthcoming single from The Phantoms, is out on 21st April.
