Trends: Georgia May Jagger stars on Bazaar

Photographed by Alexi Lubomirski and styled by Vanessa Coyle, rock-n-roll royalty Georgia May Jagger makes her Harper’s Bazaar cover debut for the March 2012 issue. In a candid account of her superstar daughter, Jerry Hall offers an intimate portrait of the golden girl of British fashion alongside a stunning photo-shoot on the shores of Miami’s Biscayne Bay.

On growing up as the daughter supermodel Jerry Hall and rockstar Mick Jagger, she said: ‘Georgia didn’t like it if I turned up at school all made-up. She preferred me to be wearing no make-up and tracksuit bottoms, like the other mums.

‘She didn’t like Dad picking her up in a fancy car, either. We used to go and visit Mick all over the world on his tours.’

The 20-year old face of Rimmel, H&M and Hudson jeans strikes a pose in the season’s hottest metallic creations while her mother recalls her first ever photo session with none other than David Bailey.

Book Review: Let this be our secret – By Deric Henderson

Distinguished journalist Deric Henderson’s first book is one that has already gripped Ireland, topping sales charts since its release it now seems destined to do the same across the UK.

In meticulous manner Henderson has built up an intriguing account of one of the country’s most sensational murder investigations.

In 1991 it seemed as if Trevor Buchanan (a Police Officer) and Lesley Howell (a Nurse) had taken their own lives, both apparently unable to cope with the fact that their respective spouses were having an affair.

However the story didn’t end there, their adulterous partners Hazel Buchanan (a Sunday school teacher) and Colin Howell (a dentist) kept up their affair, as things died down both even remarried.

They did though both carry a dark secret with them, as they moved on with their lives.

Cracks in their stories began to appear when Howell’s career spiralled out of control and a number of personal issues and failed business dealings caused him to tell his church that he was indeed a murderer.

This statement led to one of NI’s most involving murder trials and has subsequently led to the imprisonment of both Howell and Buchanan.

This publication offers forth a very thorough look at each twist and turn of this all to real story of love, betrayal, murder and justice.

Let This Be Our Secret is available now from all good retailers. RRP £12.99

Listen:The Milk ‘Broke Up The Family’

Check hotly-tipped Essex four-piece The Milk’s new single, ‘Broke Up The Family’, release on April 2.‘Broke Up The Family’ is an exhilarating and infectious follow-up to the hip-hop-infused groove of ‘B-Roads’, which cemented The Milk’s reputation as one of the major new acts of 2012.

A mix of classic, contemporary soul, taut guitar-rock and an effortless ear for pop melodies, the single is also a darker, more personal turn for the band, written in response to broken homes.

It was also produced by the boys’ long-term collaborator, celebrated DJ and remixer Brad Baloo (The Nextmen). The Milk recently completed recording their debut album with Brad, of which ‘Broke Up The Family’ is just the tip of the iceberg.

The Milk are now set to embark on a massive twenty-seven date UK tour, beginning in Canterbury on March 1, and featuring a show at London’s Scala (April 4) on the week of the single’s release.

EMI’s ‘NOW THAT’S WHAT I CALL MUSIC!’ series opens trademark dispute with Steampunk band The Men That Will Not Be Blamed For Nothing

Friday afternoon saw London steampunks THE MEN THAT WILL NOT BE BLAMED FOR NOTHING accused of trademark infringement by the people behind the ‘Now That’s What I Call Music!’ series of chart compilations.

With disputed debut album ‘Now That’s What I Call Steampunk! Volume 1’ being released back in 2010., trademark owners EMI have been somewhat slow to catch-up to the time-travelling neo-Victorian band‘s antics.

Now that they’re on the case however, the disputable arbiters of all things current ‘n’ cutting edge in contemporary music have called on the meddlesome merchants of (18)77 punk rock to take action immediately.

Given just three working days to either change the album’s name or face legal action the band, who are fronted by ‘occult comedian’ seen on the stages of Download, Sonisphere etc Andrew O’Neill, have spent the weekend canvassing their fans for alternative titles.

After sifting through suggestions spanning the sublime to ridiculous, they have now picked a winner.

The record formerly known as ‘Now That’s What I Call Steampunk! Volume 1’ will be made available on iTunes et al again later this week, and also go to a second CD pressing, under new title ‘THE STEAMPUNK ALBUM THAT CANNOT BE NAMED FOR LEGAL REASONS’.

In the meantime, there are less than 50 copies of the original CD remaining, for fans to snap up while they can!

The Men That Will Not Be Blamed For Nothing also due release the follow-up to their debut on March 12th via Leather Apron records.

It seems fairly safe to assume that no other great mind could come up with the title; ‘THIS MAY BE THE REASON WHY THE MEN THAT WILL NOT BE BLAMED FOR NOTHING CANNOT BE KILLED BY CONVENTIONAL WEAPONS’.
