The Jude are an up-and-coming London-based rock ‘n’ roll band. “Ha Ha Goodbye” is their debut single release and is a sound they describe as “vicious skiffle” – a punchy, jerky, energetic number that gets you dancing in no time.Frontman Gav’s powerful Irish vocals growl over an energetic British rock ‘n’ roll sound – giving an all-round ‘London’ vibe.
“Ha Ha Goodbye” highlights the journey of leaving their hometowns and moving to London to jump on the musical goodship. Similarly The Jude are named after Saint Jude – the patron saint of lost causes, of hopeless cases, of the underdog.
The energy in the music transmits amazingly live and they have played with artists such as Tinie Tempah, the Kooks, and headlined the official Live Nation aftershow party for Kings of Leon last summer.
The Jude have played prestigious festivals and events such as Standon Calling, Relentless Boardmasters, the Red Stripe Music Awards, City Showcase London and an Oxjam event hosted by Phil Clifton of MTV & XFM. Gwen Stefani looks amazing and talks to ELLE magazine on whether Lady Gaga, Rihanna and Katy Perry have taken a page out of her playbook when it comes to style: “Really? I don’t see myself in those girls. I usually put pants on. I see these girls as more going for the sex-symbol thing. I was more, in the band, like a tomboy. Of course, I think every girl is sexy, so there’s going to be a little of that. But I see a lot of younger artists going more toward the sexy thing.”On performing while pregnant: “It was horrible. Certain songs would make me want to puke. You feel pretty gross when you are first pregnant. You don’t feel cute, you feel disgusting. You’re getting fat. It was hard. I mean, I’m very vain. That would be my middle name. Of course I am, you know what I mean? I love the visual.”
On her appearance: “I mean, I’m very vain. That would be my middle name. Of course I am, you know what I mean? I love the visual.”
On her marriage to Gavin Rossdale: “The first time we ever kissed was right around Valentine’s Day–we were in New Orleans on tour. So, yeah, I always think about that because it’s unbelievable that we’ve been able to stay together. I feel so proud of us–it’s one of my biggest achievements.” READ MORE in www.elle.com
Vadoinmessico are a 5 piece band from several corners of the Earth residing in London and playing beautiful, nostalgic psychedelic folk-pop. Giorgio (from Italy), Salvador (from Mexico) started the band and were soon joined by banjo player Stefan (from Austria) and Alessandro (also Italian), and their English drummer Joe.
They have recorded their debut album, with the help of mix engineer Craig Silvey (Arcade Fire, Portishead, etc) and are now ready to enchant the world with their exceptional sounds.
Vadoinmessico make music that reflects their culturally diverse origins, and their migratory status in London.
The themes that run through Giorgio’s songs are those of the nostalgia of lost lands and lost loves, and but set to the warm and exotic tones of the Mediterranean and Latin influences that permeate their entirely unique sounds.
However, there is also a dimension to Vadoinmessico that is pop, playful, beautiful, and warm – which will appeal to all.
2011 sees a new era begin for Vado as they prepare for a series of single and EP releases in the UK and Europe for Spring and Summer, and an album in the Autumn, to considerable anticipation after already being play-listed on national radio in Germany, being featured on NPR in the USA, playing one of the buzz shows at SXSW in 2010, and having sold more than 3000 copies of their self-released debut EP last year. Danger Mouse & Daniele Luppi present: ROME – album release date 16th May, featuring vocals by Jack White and Norah Jones.United by their shared passion for classic Italian film music, Danger Mouse and Italian composer Daniele Luppi created the ROME album over an intense songwriting period using vintage equipment and original musicians from films such as The Good, the Bad and the Ugly and Once Upon a Time in the West.
Every effort was made to replicate the recording practices of the 1960s/70s golden age.
For all its cinematic qualities, what follows is a complex, nuanced pop record with intensity and darkness as well as uplift and light. It’s an ambitious work with a uniquely modern sound that has been achieved through traditional, vintage processes. It is, above all, a fully realised album, perfectly formed and hauntingly beautiful.
Check out a trailer for ROME, including interviews with Danger Mouse, Daniele Luppi, Jack White and Norah Jones below:

Leeds based indie band, Scams will release a four track EP entitled ‘Lost For Words’ on 18th April. The EP was produced by Johann Scheerer at Clouds Hill Studios, Hamburg. The Scams sound is rock/pop music without bullshit and without boundaries. It’s about heartfelt harmonies and searing melodies, carrying openly sincere words.
The band is fronted by Andy Morgan, bass and vocals come from Adam Fenwick, second guitars, samples and vocals are provided by Jamie Macneal and Daniel Harvey completes the line up on drums.
The band have also recently enjoyed some synchronisation success, with tracks ‘Youngblood’ and ‘Jules et Jim’ used in the new series of ‘Shit My Dad Says’ and ‘Better With You’, both shown on Channel 5 and Fiver.
Front man Andy Morgan commented on the track listing – ‘Lost For Words’ is the lead single from the EP, it’s about how there aren’t enough words to properly describe anything that anyone would ever need to say.
The next track ‘The Gunfighter (1950)’ is based on the Gregory Peck movie, fame and infamy go hand in hand.
‘Lions And Tigers And Bears’ is a funny one, I’ve always had an issue with the ‘it was all a dream ending’ in The Wizard Of Oz; there’s no place like home but always an excuse for a break from reality.
The last track on the EP is called ‘Making Maps From Memory’ and is the result of too many years in an isolated, small-minded city.
The band has just returned from a European tour with New Politics and recently supported Azure Ray. They will be announcing a series of UK dates and festival appearances over the coming months.
