Having received the BBC Young Folk Award back in 2009, singer-songwriter Megan Henwood has since been gaining acclaim from the likes of The Guardian, Uncut and BBC Radio 2. And now – following last year’s album ‘River’ – she is back to charm our ears with a brand new single.
The Ash Howes mix of ‘Join The Dots’ will send shivers down the spine on first listen. Flowing with smooth, atmospheric folk-tinged melodies and throbbing beats, alongside the delicate power of Henwood’s vocals, it oozes a stirring splendour. With shades of the emotive warmth of Daughter, it’s a simply spellbinding offering.
Of the track, Megan explains: “‘Join The Dots’ is about how retrospectively we can recall the same story but interpret it completely differently – sometimes in an unrealistically positive light, as if to save ourselves from the honest truth.”
‘Join The Dots (Ash Howes Mix)’ is out now.
