It feels like crawling out of myself and the anxiety spoken about in other singles and starting to believe things can be different, but not quite knowing how to make that a reality yet. Overall though despite the darkness of the whole EP, it was important to me to convey that there is always light and there is always hope…”
On struggling with anxiety and channeling into her music, she reveals: “(Nostalgia’ EP) is a summing up of my personal mindset during the last two years. ‘Try Again’ and ‘Immortalize’ are fast-paced and jaunted at times, full of this nervous energy which is really representative of how I was when the concepts of the songs came up.
Then ‘Forest Song’ is split into these two sections where things become less focused on bitterness and blame, and more on reflection. Nostalgia itself feels like the perfect end to the story; like finally admitting to yourself that something has passed, and asking what happens now?…”
