Leeds based, ambient pop band Dream Estate – William Tse, Dan Hvorostovsky, Dan Noble, Joe Dawson – open up about the re-release of their stunning tune ‘You’, taken from their debut EP ‘The Love We Shared’, which is out now.
Hey Dream Estate! How are you today?
Feelin’ fruity. Thanks for asking.
What’s your single ‘You’ all about?
‘You’ is an insecure love song. It’s about giving your heart to someone, and hoping they don’t break it.
You’ve been compared to the likes of The Japanese House and Aquilo – would you say they’re fair comparisons?
These are both big influences, mainly in terms of production. So this is a great comparison in our eyes.
If you could collaborate with any artist, dead or alive, who would it be?
Describe your sound in five words:
Like Carbonara – thick, creamy, warm and cheesy.
What’s the music scene like in Leeds at the moment?
Leeds has always had a great music scene. We’ve seen some amazing new acts from being here only a couple years, and its great to be part of such a talented community.
What’s been your favourite show to date?
Our first Leeds headline show in Lending Room went down a tasty treat. When everyone came out for it, it made our night! Can’t wait for the next one.
What are your plans for 2018?
We have big things planned for 2018. Single releases & headline shows later in the year. Were playing Leeds Chapel with our pals Tranqua Lite on the 23rd Feb and Lending Room with Corella on 17th of March. Festival season is booking up quite nicely too!
