SPRING KING ‘MUMMA’: “CATCHY AND DYNAMIC GARAGE-ROCK CLEVERNESS”

SpringKing1Check out Manchester band Spring King’s “Mumma”, a slice of catchy and dynamic garage-rock cleverness, out on ParadYse/Transgressive Records 3rd March.

The track was inspired by the phrase ‘she must have got it from her mother’ overheard from a conversation one evening, a story and narrative began to develop about a girl struggling with addiction, at first set to piano but now against a backdrop of anthemic drums and searing guitars.

Spring King’s – young producer + drums/vocals Tarek Musa, Peter Darlington (guitar/vocals), Anna B Savage (keys/vocals), Andy Morton (guitar), James Green (bass) – new approach to production is evident in this new effort, but maintains the fuzzy, eccentric character that defines the band’s sound. SpringKing2Here’s their 10-track demo ‘In All This Murk and Dirt’, recorded last September entirely in a bathroom in the dreary North England…

Pre-order “Mumma” on vinyl here and on iTunes here.
