LION BARK ‘LONGHORNS’ : “DREAM POP, ESCAPIST AND OFTEN ROMANTIC MIX…”
Brighton dream pop band Lion Bark share ‘Longhorns’, their charming new track, released in conjunction with a hometown gig at The Hope on December 4.
The track is twinned with the band’s stunning debut track, ‘Two Prongs’, ahead of their debut EP released in 2014.
‘Longhorns’, produced by the band (Guy Bangham – Vocals, Guitar, Zal Jones – Drums, Ozzy Ellis – Guitar, Vocals, Josh Erişkin – Bass, Vocals) alongside Tarek Musa (Stealing Sheep, Jethro Fox), was inspired by two of Guy’s best friends moving to Texas, and their newfound local college football team (also called Longhorns). It’s a fitting tribute to distant friendship and being left behind…
Brighton four-piece Lion Bark met at music college, but dropped out before the end of the first year.
All four live together in a flat overlooking the sea, working part-time as a postman and in cafes/call-centres, whilst they tuned up their ‘Beach Beats’: a British dream pop, escapist and often romantic, mixed with hazy post-punk guitars and the soon-to-be-distinctive voice of lead singer Guy Bangham.
