WHEN SAINTS GO MACHINE ‘SYSTEM OF UNLIMITED LOVE’ VIDEO: “TELLING THEIR STORY THROUGH DANCE AND PERFORMANCE”
Copenhagen’s When Saints Go Machine present their new video for ‘System Of Unlimited Love’, taken from ‘Infinity Pool'(out now on !K7) and directed by Nina Holmgren and Ronni Morgenstjerne. The band say: “Hope you guys will love it as much as we do!”
The director explains: “The track ‘System Of Unlimited Love’ has and atmosphere that made me want to do a dance video in a special and surreal setting, where you would be drawn into a universe, get hypnotized and seduced like you do when you are listening to the song.
There is something very powerful and at the same time fragile about pole dancing. It’s women being sexual and dominant. It’s a very physically demanding act but at the same time it also feels very intimate.
These women are letting you in and telling their story through dance and performance.Pole dancing is often associated with strip clubs and a dark underground environment but in recent years it has gained popularity as a form of fitness and performance art.
Only one of the dancers in this video is a professional dancer, the others are women attending a pole dance class.
I thought it would be interesting to portray this environment where women are using pole dancing as a form of fitness and a way to express themselves in a private setting.
By adding the special lighting to what is basically a work out it intensifies the whole performance and gives a dreamy and surreal feel to women expressing themselves through dance.
When Saints Go Machine are: Nikolaj Manuel Vonsild (vocals), Jonas Kenton (keyboard), Simon Muschinsky(keyboards), and Silas Moldenhawer (drums).
