Recent years have shown that coming second in TV talent show The X Factor can be a blessing in disguise for that lucky act (step forward chart toppers JLS, One Direction & Olly Murs). Cheeky Chappie Murs performance last night at Belfast’s Odyssey Arena in front of a sell out (admittedly largely female) crowd highlighted just why he has gained such popularity, sold records across the globe & netted himself a number of key TV presenting jobs. Olly took to the stage with boundless enthusiasm and alongside his talented band unleashed the majority of his two current album tracks, we were also presented with a homage to rock heroes Queen, soul music legend James Brown & this year’s Belsonic Festival headliners Madness. This was a show that pleased all ages, throw in lots of dancing, showmanship & a few trips out into crowd & you have a young talented popstar doing what he does best.
Mr Murs may only be three years into his career, but he is most definitely here to stay.
