Denver-based indie-popsters Tennis second album Young & Old is the follow up to their highly praised debut Cape Dory. Now signed to ATP Recordings the band are unleashing a fresh batch of melodic guitar-based songs that easily match their predecessors’ well-received tracks.
For this album guitarist Patrick Riley, vocalist Aliana Moore and drummer James Barone headed to Nashville to work with The Black Keys’ Patrick Carney. The writing and recording process taking very little time to achieve.
Young & Old is a very well-produced affair, taking the original albums best points and running with them. Each song highlights the bands enthusiasm for their product and shows them to be more than a one-hit-wonder.
Embracing their growing maturity as a band Tennis are pushing the envelope slightly here, not enough to shun fans, but these new tracks do show a band that have utilised their recent touring experience and performances to hone their collective skills.
‘Young And Old’ is released February 13th 2012 on ATP Recordings.
