Waters and Nada Surf: New videos + UK dates

Waters and Nada Surf are coming to the UK together next week, to play just two shows. One of these shows will be held in Glasgow, the other, London.

To coincide with these shows, both acts have released a new video each.
Just in time for the tour, WATERS have released their new single “Take Me Out To The Coast”, taken from their album “Out in the Light”, available from March 12 through City Slang.

The video for this single was filmed by front-man Van Pierszalowski, at the Tiny Telephone studio in San Francisco.

Pierszalowski brought in a group of teenagers to appear on the album version of the single, in order to bring the album to life.

Tiny Telephone, a studio known for hosting big names such as Death Cab For Cutie, tUnE-yArDs and Magnetic Fields, is also home to many fantastic engineers, including John Congleton, the person behind WATERS debut.

Being a safe haven for this independent band, the video captures the ethos of a California studio.

Last year, WATERS played alongside various artists such as Wye Oak and EMA, and will no doubt be a fantastic support for fellow label-mates, Nada Surf.

Nada Surf released their sixth studio album last week, “The Stars Are Indifferent to Astronomy”, which show cased their first material in four years. Ahead of the tour, they have released the video for the first track, “When I Was Young.”
Directed by Phil Harder, the video illustrates a day in the life of a school boy, roaming the streets of New York City, capturing the idea of idealism and childhood innocence. It explores young love and freedom and looks at the world in a way that only children can.
Nada Surf and WATERS are set to hit the UK next week with two shows:-
Feb 7 – Glasgow – King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut
Feb 8 – London – Koko.
