Lana Del Rey’s first UK Vogue cover: “I haven’t had a drink for seven years now.”
In the week her debut album has raced to the top of the charts in 14 countries, Vogue magazine unveiled Lana Del Rey’s first cover with the fashion bible. She was shot by Mario Testino and wears spring/summer 2012 Louis Vuitton.
Lana reveals in the magazine: “The album is a tribute to living life on the wild side. I’m sort of kidding because I’m not that wild any more… I used to drink a lot. Too much.”
“I haven’t had a drink for seven years now.”
“I am many of the thousands of people enraptured by the throaty, seductive voice of Lana Del Rey,” says Alexandra Shulman in her editor’s letter. “Once I had seen Lana play at a small event in London, I was convinced that she would be a great Vogue cover girl, even though she is probably one of the newest stars in her field that the magazine has ever had on the cover.”
The March issue of Vogue is available from Monday February 6
