TRENDS: ALL ABOUT JANUARY JONES ALLURE PHOTO SHOOT

January Jones looks amazing in Allure magazine – check the behind-the-scenes shots of her cover shoot with Norman Jean Roy in Los Angeles.Roy photographed Jones at a palatial home in Beverly Hills. The two talked about their first jobs: his, taking amateur glamour shots at a mall; hers, modeling in New York. “[My apartment] was right by the Empire State Building, which I thought was just amazing,” she says. “I’d only been on an airplane one time before.”The actress poses in a satin Lanvin bodysuit and a pair of suede Christian Louboutin heels, which were a breeze to wear compared to her Mad Men footwear. “The most challenging part of the wardrobe is actually the period shoes,” she says. But overall, Jones appreciates the restrictive fashions of the era. “The long-line bra with the pointy tips and the girdle, and then the stockings on the garter belt—I really like the shape it gives me. It’s kind of sad when you take the girdle off at the end of the day.”“We went with a soft look—a bit tousled in a controlled way,” explained hairstylist Ken O’Rourke. After blowing out Jones’s hair, he curled her whole head with a medium-barrel iron and brushed through the curls. Then he styled it with his fingers and asked the actress to mess it up with hers. While Grace Kelly comparisons are inevitable for Jones, she takes them with a grain of salt. “It’s hard to think I have to live up to that, because I’m not her, unless Grace Kelly drank beer,” she quips.Jones’s latest work demand was filming X-Men: First Class, a prequel to the other X-Men films. She plays Emma Frost, a mutant villain whose superpowers include telepathy and the ability to assume the unassailable form of a diamond. “I was coming off two dramatic movies and then another season of Mad Men, and I was ready to do something a little bit more fun.” Here, Jones is shown playing with her Yorkiepoo, Max.
