THE WORLD’S MOST EXPENSIVE TREK: THE TRAVERSE OF THE GREAT HIMALAYA TRAIL
For the first time ever and exclusively with trekking specialists World Expeditions, the Nepal traverse of the Great Himalaya Trail – the longest and highest alpine walking track in the world once complete – is now available through a specialist tour operator.
Featuring trails up to 6,190 metres above sea, all of Nepal’s 8,000m peaks can be viewed along the way, while trekkers also have the opportunity to experience remote cultures in hidden corners of the country – a true exploratory experience.
Leaders of certain sections of the trip include celebrated Everest summiteers Stephen Venables (the first British person to climb Everest without oxygen), Greg Mortimer (the first Australian to summit Everest), and Carlos Buhler (member of the first American team to climb Everest from the Kangshung Face in Tibet).
Author and adventurer Robin Boustead, who worked closely with World Expeditions to create the inaugural supported treks on this trail, will lead the first section.
For those who cannot afford the time or the money to complete the whole length of the Great Himalaya Trail’s Nepal traverse, it can be broken into seven smaller stages (from 18-34 days), which can also be joined separately – and more than 50 people from all over the world have already booked their place!
