BELFAST FASHION WEEK GOES UNDERGROUND AT VICTORIA SQUARE
Last night saw fashion followers flock to the opening night of West Coast Cooler FASHIONWEEK with an edgy underground car park fashion show in Belfast’s hottest shopping destination, Victoria Square.
The leading fashion event, which sold out over ten days ago, kicked off in spectacular style with top fashion stores such as House of Fraser showcasing the latest autumn/winter looks, including a collection from the recently relaunched, iconic Biba.
Global brands including Reiss, Ted Baker and Vivienne Westwood at Cruise also showcased glamorous pieces while Urban Outfitters, Pepe Jeans, Clockwork Orange and Pull and Bear highlighted the best in casual looks for this winter.
Lindsey Loughlin from Victoria Square said: “Huge trends like furs, leathers, romance, winter military and the new flare have really wowed the crowds and QPark’s unique venue really helped create a cool, urban environment.
The great thing about FASHIONWEEK is that everything seen on the catwalk is available in store right now. The event showcases accessible fashion which is relevant to Victoria Square shoppers who come here for the great brands and stores which suit a wide range of shoppers’ budgets.
The show was a massive success all round and many people stayed on in the centre to shop for the catwalk trends afterwards.â€
Fresh from a front row seat at the show DJ Pete Snodden’s wife Julia said: “I loved the mix of designer and high street in the show, it’s fantasy with reality for me. The shows always strike the right balance between forecasting the latest trends on the catwalks and accessible fashion that we can all enjoy.
FASHIONWEEK has now established itself as a must-attend event for fashionistas, designers, fashion students and anyone involved in the industry. ”
The glamour and glitz will continue at tonight’s designer show where fashions from Candy Plum, Sarah-Jane Boutique, The White Bicycle, Jourdan, Blush, and Rio/Brazil/BT9 will join local designers Una Rodden, Grainne Maher and new designer, Alan J Beattie, on the catwalk.
