Search For World’s Best Fingerdancer

Today sees the launch of Battle Fingers, from Sony Ericsson, the global competition to find the world’s best dancing digits.
Fingerdancers across the world will fight it out in an online battle to decide who has rhythm and who is a dancing disaster, with the winner starring in the new Tha Breakadelics music video and attending the world B-Boy Championships finals in London as a VIP.
The competition to find the best fingerdancer is expected to be fierce, as fingers across the globe are inspired by the television advertisements for Sony Ericsson’s new XPERIA™ X10 mini and XPERIA™ X10 mini pro – mini but the mighty versions of the XPERIA™ X10.

The adverts feature fingerdancing at its best, with a fingerdancing diva tapping, twirling and sliding across the easy to use touchscreen user interface, optimized for one hand usage.

The direct access to the entertaining multi media applications from each of the four customisable corners, make these handsets the perfect dance floor for flighty fingers.

To celebrate the joy of using these new handsets, Sony Ericsson has decided to launch a competition to find the world’s best fingerdancer and reward their moves.

For three weeks from today, aspiring fingerdancers can visit sonyericsson to easily upload a one minute video of their best moves, to be in with a chance of winning this coveted prize.

Even untrained fingers can take part, as there are fingerdance tutorial videos available online, to teach eager hands slick new moves and break dance their way to victory.

“Battle Fingers is a fantastic competition as it gets the public up and dancing and having fun!” said Lennard Hoornik, Corporate Vice President, Head of Marketing, Sony Ericsson. “The XPERIA™ X10 mini and XPERIA™ X10 mini pro were designed with the ultimate human interface in mind, from the intuitive touchscreen allowing users to navigate with only one hand, to the ergonomic human curvature design.

Fingers can’t help but dance on the phone – and we want to share this feeling across the world” Dancers can shimmy to their own tunes or download the unique Tha Breakadelics track – Da Phunk – featured on the XPERIA™ X10 mini and XPERIA™ X10 mini pro TV

Tha Breakadelics are an internationally renowned team of artists and producers (featuring Krisz Kreuzer amongst others) from the Studio BASS in Hamburg.

They are the team behind productions such as Brixtonboogie, Pryde, De Phazz, True North and Earl 16.

Once the clip has been uploaded to the Battle Fingers competition site, entrants can share their video with friends and grow their fan base – they will need it as the competition is decided by a dance off!

Breakdancing, jiving, salsaing and boogieing fingers across the world should start limbering up and submit their entry a for the chance to be crowned Battle Fingers Champion!
