Model Laura Lacole Christmas Toy Run with 300 bikers
BELFAST glamour model Laura Lacole teamed up with motorcycle club The Ancestors as over 300 bikers took part in the club’s annual Christmas Toy Run.
Laura joined Ancestor motorcycle fanatic Maurice Knocker on his bike to help collect money in aid of the Children’s Ward at the Ulster Hospital Dundonald.
The Belfast based club was established in 1989 and draws its members from across Northern Ireland.
The run took place on yesterday (Sunday December 6), leaving Ballygowan at 1pm through Saintfield to the Temple then on to the M1 at Lisburn and to the first stop at Sainsburys trailer park at Sprucefield.
The run then continued down the M1 to the Westlink and into Belfast City Centre passing in front of the City Hall to the second stop at Customs House Square before heading to the Sydenham Bypass and taking the Newtownards Road route to the Ulster Hospital where soup, sandwiches, tea and coffee awaited the riders and their passengers.
The Clubs Chairman Gavin Knocker said: “going past the City Hall with both sides of the road packed with Christmas shoppers, and the welcome we got, was fantastic.â€
The Ancestors Christmas Toy Run has always had very strong support from bikers around Northern Ireland. Each rider is asked to make a donation of £5 and if possible a small gift for a sick child (for hygiene reasons the club is unable to accept soft toys).
Last year around 300 bikers took part raising thousands of pounds over the years, so if you are free, help The Ancestors help the children by getting the wet gear on and supporting a very special cause.
Also joining the bikers was Belfast Lord Mayor Naomi Long.
