SEXY model and TV presenter Katie Larmour is throwing her weight behind an alcohol awareness charity.
Katie joined fundraisers for the George Best Foundation in Bangor to raise much needed cash for the charity and welcome Santa to the Bloomfield Shopping Centre.
The George Best Foundation was set up by late football legend George Best’s sister Barbara and her husband Norman McNarry to raise funds for research into alcohol disease.
However, in recent months the Foundation has been moving towards campaigning with adults and young people to warn them of the dangers of alcohol abuse.
Belfast hero George Best hit the headlines during his career as his long-term battle with alcoholism deteriorated until his death in November 2005. Now Katie is just one a number of local personalities hoping to support the charity over the coming months.
Speaking at Bloomfield Shopping Centre Katie said: George’s death was sad and tragic but it doesn’t have to be in vain.
Hopefully, through their fierce campaigning work which has now moved to social networking sites like Facebook the George Best Foundation can not only raise awareness of the disease of alcoholism but also help educate young people and adults in the dangers of alcohol abuse.
