Former Big Brother star Kate Lawler is set to rock Ireland’s biggest dance music festival when she takes to the stage at Planetlove WKD on Saturday 5 September!
Lawler was the first female winner of the hit television reality show when she won the third series in 2002 the same series that propelled Jade Goody to stardom.
And while many of her Big Brother counterparts faded in to obscurity, Lawler carved out a lucrative career for herself in television, modelling, radio and DJing.
Playing alongside some of the biggest names in the industry like Eric Prydz, David Guetta, Steve Angello, Nic Fanciulli and James Zabiela, Lawler has established herself as one of the leading ladies within the house and techno scenes.
She regularly plays the UK’s biggest clubs and festivals including Godskitchen, Colours, Cream and her residency in legendary Manchester club Sankeys.
Last year Lawler exploded on to the global stage with a mammoth world tour that took in Europe, South America, Asia and Australia.
And the London-based vixen delved in to production with her first EP featuring three boundary-pushing tracks; Screw You, 20 Years On Acid and Water Baby.
It was quickly picked up by Toolroom Records and became an instant hit on download stores like Beatport and DJDownload.com
In 2009 Lawler continues to excel within the scene with a monthly podcast on Paul van Dyk’s Vonyc radio show, monthly gigs across Europe and an abundance of production work set for release later in the year.
Her set on Planetlove’s Cool FM Outdoor Stage is unquestionably one of the highlights in a festival jam-packed with exclusive performances and leaders of the dance music movement!
Lawler is joined on the Outdoor Stage by an abundance of leading female performers including vocalists Maria Nayler, JES and Audrey Gallagher.
Nayler is the chart-topping superstar who has worked with the likes of Kylie Minogue, Sasha, Ferry Corsten and Robert Miles.
Her hits include One & One, Be As One and We Belong.
JES is the voice behind Motorcycle’s 2003 dancefloor smasher As The Rush Comes and more recently toured with the world’s Number 1 DJ; Tiesto.
And Audrey Gallagher has provided vocals for some of clubland’s biggest hits including Agnelli & Nelson ˜Holding On To Nothing and John O’Callaghan’s Big Sky.
Other female acts playing this year’s festival include hard dance star Anne Savage, Ireland’s leading female DJ Mandy Reid and Enniskillen sisters L.A.W.
PLANETLOVE WKD The Festival 2009 takes place at Shane’s Castle, County Antrim, on Saturday 5 September.
