Following an amazing performance at Glastonbury Yeah Yeah Yeahs have just announced a one off date at St. Georges Market in Belfast on Wednesday 26 August. Tickets are on sale from Friday, 17 July.
Fronted by the inimitable and iconic Karen O, the New York three-piece released their latest album It’s Blitz! in April among many glowing verdicts it was described as the alternative pop album of the decade by Spin magazine and strong contender for album of the year by The Times.
Recorded with Nick Launay and longtime collaborator TV On The Radio’s Dave Sitek, the album sessions took the city dwelling band from the snow-covered fields of rural Massachusetts and Long View Studios, to Sitek’s Staygold complex in Brooklyn before heading south to a studio in Tornillo in the Texan desert for further confinement and recording.
In addition to playing Oxegen 09, Yeah Yeah Yeahs will also play at Reading and Leeds festival’s this summer before returning for a UK tour in November.
