maximo-park1FIB Heineken are delighted to reveal that the latest additions to this year’s Benicássim festival are Elbow, Maximo Park, The Horrors and Peaches.
Having already confirmed Oasis, Kings Of Leon, Franz Ferdinand, The Killers, Paul Weller, Lily Allen, Glasvegas and the Mystery Jets few would disagree that FIB Heineken is now officially the best festival of 2009!
Liam Gallagher - OasisWidely recognised for their musical ability and innovation, Elbow are a much welcomed addition to the already fantastic line up. The Brit Award and Mercury Prize winners have promised to rock the Benicássim crowd with songs from their latest album The Seldom Seen Kid, as well as a wealth of much loved classics.
NME darlings, The Horrors, will grace the Benicássim stage with their electric, exciting brand of garage rock. Delivering tracks from their highly anticipated album ‘Primary Colours’, including new single ‘Sea Within A Sea’, their dramatic stage show is one not to be missed.
Mercury Music Prize nominees and crowd pleasers Maximo Park have also added their name to the bill. With the release of their new album ‘Quicken the Heart’, their live show is guaranteed to get the blood pumping and fists punching the air.
Benicássim has also enlisted the talents of cross-gendered electro bad girl, Peaches. Renowned for her fiery, hi-octane live shows, often involving themes of cross-dressing and gender bending, the former drama school teacher brings her mixed bag of punk-funk, electro and grimy chaos to the Spanish stage.
New York post-punk indie-rockers The Walkmen also throw their hat in, no doubt bringing their vintage instruments with them. Initially championed by American television show The O.C., The Walkmen have continued to garner international critical acclaim with their post-punk revival sound.

Starting today, FIB Heineken invites you to become a member of FiberClub – the club for friends of the festival. One of the many advantages of joining is that you can use the bus service the festival organises to and from the Valencia Airport and Benicàssim. For more information please visit

A phenomenal 50,000 people per day enjoyed FIB Heineken 2008 in the gorgeous Spanish sun and early indications suggest that this year (which sees the festival celebrating its 15th birthday), will be one to remember. Backed by the man behind The Hop Farm Festival and founder of the Mean Fiddler and fellow Irishman, Vince Power, it will take place from July 16th – 19th on the east coast of Spain.
